Identogram

Two shores,
one story.

Identogram is what happens when you spend years studying the space between Japan and California — and then start building in it.

The story

Identogram started as a question: why does Japanese culture translate so naturally to California — and vice versa? Surf and street style. Craft and minimalism. Ramen counters in strip malls and skate decks in Shibuya. The exchange has been running for generations, and it produced a culture that belongs fully to neither country and completely to both.

We've been documenting that culture for years — cataloging it, writing about it, living it. Identogram is the studio that turns the research into output: a cultural encyclopedia, a storytelling practice rooted in mixed-heritage identity, and apparel labels run by people who grew up inside the culture they design for.

The name is the method. Identity + Ideogram — take something as complex as who you are, and compress it into a mark that reads instantly. A logo should work like a kanji: one glance, whole meaning.

What we believe

  • 01 /
Identity over trend. Trends expire. Who you are doesn't. We build from narrative, not from whatever's charting.
  • 02 /
The intersection is the asset. The most interesting work lives between categories — streetwear and software, research and retail, 日本 and California.
  • 03 /
Engineer it properly. Bold ideas deserve clean execution. Every brand in the ecosystem ships on infrastructure we build ourselves.
